About Clem Chesterfield

Call him “country” or “outlaw” but Kingston (ON) based entertainer Clem Chesterfield’s self described definition is, “cosmic cowboy meets alt-country... in a fancy sequin suit”. Clem Chesterfield is the alter ego of singer/songwriter Tim Sheffield who began his music career in the 1980’s in rock and blues based bands. In 2016 Sheffield found himself with a group of original songs that he could only describe as ”country in nature”. He knew the perfect persona to deliver those songs, “Clem Chesterfield”, his version of a working class hero embracing “cowboy chic”. The songs were crafted into 2017’s debut release, The Chronicles Of Clem Chesterfield. Clem on vocals and acoustic guitar was joined by Jason Euringer (Sarah Harmer Band) on upright acoustic bass and Burke Carroll (George Fox, Murray McLauchlan, Ian Tyson) on pedal steel and dobro guitars. Together they presented these new songs with a fresh take on the Classic Country sound which includes an essential Everyman viewpoint identifying as pure Canadiana.

A new album titled Of Lures & Love... with The LA-Z Boy Recliners, his backup band, was released in 2021 with the sonic guidance of producer Hugh Christopher Brown (Wolfe Island Records). The first single “Date Night” was launched on all the streaming platforms known to humankind with rousing success generating thousands of streams. The second single to be released was “Except For You” in late 2021. It’s still growing with the support of a video created by Kingston’s Jamstone Productions.
Through solid press support, touring parts of Canada, and a bit of luck, a third song from the new album titled “She Held His Heart” was picked up and used in a feature film being released in North America in 2022 called Eddie & Sunny. Working with director Desmond Devenish and Ierlovino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment has been an incredible experience that will bring fantastic opportunities to Clem in 2022 and beyond.
Clem Chesterfield has become known as the Inclusive Cowboy and credits his durability and longevity in the music industry to working and playing hard, never taking anything for granted. He recognizes that a little good fortune doesn’t hurt along the dusty ol’ trail of life but understands that the ongoing support from music lovers is paramount to his success.
Yee Haw is Clem’s mantra!
